The Olympics might be over but an MP is still in the spirit and has made a video of herself performing taekwondo moves.

MP for Walthamstow, Stella Creasy, showed her best moves in the video while inviting people to a homecoming party for Olympic medalist Lutalo Muhammad.

In the video, Ms Creasy said: “I don’t think I am going to win any medals at the Olympics for Taekwondo but I know somebody from Walthamstow who has – the amazing Lutalo Muhammad.

“Lets show the world how Walthamstow does an Olympic homecoming party and what the best ones look like.”

Mr Muhammad won a silver medal for Team Great Britain in Rio in the Mens 80kg Taekwondo.

The party will take place at the weekly Night Feast food festival in Walthamstow Town Square at 6pm tonight, Friday August 26.

Children are invited to make their own medals detailing what a champion is and the winner will be chosen by Mr Mohammad.

The 25-year-old, who was born and raised in Walthamstow, will also give a speech about his achievements.

MP for Walthamstow Stella Creasy will attend the party along with Leader of Waltham Forest Council, Cllr Chris Robbins.

Ms Creasy said the event will be an opportunity to inspire the younger generation to pursue their dreams.

She said: “A week ago many of us in Walthamstow stayed up into the small hours to will Lutalo on and we're so proud of everything he has achieved.

“That's why Walthamstow wants to stage the first Olympic homecoming party for him in London - to give our hometown a chance to say well done and inspire the next generation of Olympians from our neck of the woods.”
