Leyton Orient are back home at Brisbane Road on Saturday, August 27 as they take on Mansfield with a 3pm kick off.

O’s assistant manager Andy Edwards admitted they are all aware of how tough a test it will be but after back to back victories the O’s are in high spirits.

Orient beat Stevenage 3-0 at home followed by a 2-1 away victory at Grimsby.

“It is great to play at home and we have got a good crowd, we had a good support here today with 400 travelling up from London,” said Edwards.

“Grimsby is a tough place to come, it is good that we pick up points on the road and when it comes to Cheltenham and Grimsby being our first two away games I think four points is a good reward.

“I think most games would take that, we have to make sure we build on that in our home form as we were disappointed to lose at home to Newport.

“But we bounced back well against Stevenage and next week will be a tough test but we will enjoy our result today and then come in next week and look to focus on the next game.”

Elsewhere, the O’s kick off their campaign in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday, September 30 as they face Stevenage at home.

The east London club were drawn in the same group as Boro as well as Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-21s and Southend United and Edwards is confident the squad can produce a good run.

“I think the changes have been interesting as the big clubs have had the decision on whether they enter it or not,” said Edwards.

“I think for us as a smaller club I think there is an opportunity to go on and win it and get to Wembley.

“We will see whether we make changes in the side we will focus on that nearer the time but if we did make changes, I don’t think it will weaken us, that’s for sure.

“It is a tournament we will look to go as far as we can in.”
